I will not elaborate on how good or bad this idea is because that’s how the entire subscription world works, whether we like it or not. My post is intended for those who want to have a quick overview of Cisco SD-WAN licensing before they decide which way to go.

The Zero-Touch Provisioning (called ZTP) is the one of the concept behind SD-WAN that I mentioned here in What is SD-WAN article that I wrote about year ago. Frankly speaking, ZTP is something that every (or almost every) SD-WAN vendor has implemented. In this post I am going to dig into detail to the Cisco SDWAN ZTP.

We are very proud to announce that Grandmetric successfuly delivered the first Software-Defined production network in quarter 1 2019 for Pfeifer & Langen Polska S.A. The implementation was part of network and IT operations optimization project for one of the largest sugar manufacturer in this part of Europe.

Specifically, the paradigm called data, control and management plane dissagregation and network automation. Here, you can read about paradigms and characteristics that the SDN idea brings. Dissagregation approach simplifies the process of building & maintaining something called network overlay. Overlay is an abstraction that SDWAN idea relies on (you will read more on dissagregation and overlay concepts below).

2018 was a very interesting year for us and technology. We introduced our IoT product “Souly”. 5G entered the normative work in standardization and released the first “version” of 5G. Wi-Fi introduced new security schemes and changed nomenclature. The networking world shifted towards SDN/SD-WAN solutions.
