ISE GUI admin password expired

Hi, it is common situation, that ISE admins are not aware that the initial ISE GUI admin password expires after 45 days after installation. This is the default behavior of ISE. It is worth to be aware of this setting and to remember to uncheck the Administrator Password Expire .. in Password Lifetime section.

You can find section in Administration -> System -> Admin Access (Authentication:Password Policy)

If it is now to late and you read this post, do not worry. Quick fix is here 😉 Since only ISE GUI password expired, login via console / ssh to ISE node, provide the admin / password you set during ISE installation and issue:

ISE1/admin# application reset-passwd ise admin
