Cisco Secure Firewall Training

Cisco Secure Firewall is an intensive, 3-day technical training for network engineers and security teams responsible for protecting networks at the Internet edge using Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) and Firepower Management Center (FMC) technologies.

The program covers:

• Cisco Secure Firewall architecture and operations
• Enforcement of advanced security policies
• Next-generation features (IPS, Malware Protection).

The course is practical and operational. Participants learn to implement security policies, configure VPN connections (site-to-site and remote access), integrate the firewall with Active Directory and pxGrid, and effectively resolve security issues using tools such as packet tracer and packet capture.

Business Outcome: Participants gain the skills to independently design, implement, and maintain a secure Internet Edge based on Cisco Secure Firewall, resulting in enhanced network protection, faster incident response, and more comprehensive utilisation of enterprise-class security mechanisms.

• You will learn how to work with Cisco Firepower Threat Defense (FTD) and manage security policies from the Firepower Management Center (FMC).
• You will understand traffic processing mechanisms (packet processing), firewall operating modes, and their impact on security and performance.
• You will be able to independently configure routing, NAT, interfaces, and security zones in a production environment.
• You will learn how to implement and fine-tune next-generation security policies: IPS (Snort), Malware Protection, URL Filtering, Security Intelligence, and SSL Decryption.
• You will acquire competencies in designing and maintaining high-availability (HA, clustering) firewalls.
• You will learn how to configure VPN connections (site-to-site and remote access) securely.
• You will be able to diagnose and resolve security issues using tools such as Packet Tracer and Packet Capture.
• You will return from the training with best practices and configuration patterns that can be immediately implemented in your infrastructure.
