Software Defined Wide Area Network, SDWAN or SD-WAN is an application of one of the Software Defined Network (SDN) paradigm called data plane, control plane and management plane dissagregation. SD-WAN builds the communication overlay on the underying network regardless of its type like MPLS, radio links or DSL.
