    About the Awards

The PropTech StartUp Europe Awards is new category within the StartUp Europe Awards’ framework (22 categories), promoted by the European Commission , implemented by Finnova Foundation, which presents a prize methodology for startups at local, regional and national level, fostering the open innovation and the collaboration between the different actors of the European ecosystems, through the private-public partnership supporting new entrepreneurs.

    How the competition looked?

Grandmetric as an Startup-size company was selected from the 267 of European Startups to the Semi-Finals in Brussels where the top 50 companies from all over the Europe gave their pitching sessions. Each startup was required to deliver the exact 3-minutes (!) pitch about their innovation or product and had 2 minutes for Q&A round. Each session then were rated by the jury consisting of 30 members from European Proptech Organization and European Commission delegates. They rated the described problem, solution, market fit, business model and how the startup meets the EU sustainable goals.

Grandmetric team were just in time with their presentation of Souly – Internet of Things based system for energy waste control that integrates smart functions and WiFi access. Souly is dedicated mainly to the building of mass living, rental platforms, dormitories or hotels. You can read more about the Souly system on Souly’s product site . Our crew went well with content, timing was perfect and answered each question from the q&a part. However this time we did not win whole competition but we are still proud to be in the chosen 50 from all Europe! We have also received the valuable tip during afternoon small talks that in fact might increase overal score when used during the pitch. One of Jury member said: ” Next time bring your Soulbox device and let them touch it”. Who knows, maybe next time we will? 🙂
